This is news from May 2008 May 26. The Beverly Hills Wrestling Team will be celebrating its 2007-2008 season at the Bellagio Ristorante on June 13, from 7-9pm. Please join us to celebrate the great successes of the season and raise funds (donations welcome, $15 or more/person recommended) for the next. May 25. Happy Memorial Day. Our Memorial Day practice (Monday) starts at 11:00am. May 22. Sensei Brezhnev's friend, top fighter of the world, and SAMBO's ambassador, Fedor Emelianenko, will be fighting in Anaheim on July 19th against Tim Silva (former UFC Champion). DYNAMO Club looks forward to welcoming and hosting Fedor during his southern CA visit. May 19: IMPORTANT Announcement: In order to improve DYNAMO Club's fiscal conditions (even though we run it not-for-profit) and practice quality, from today on, 1. Our new practice time is Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 3:30 - 6:30 pm. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sundays will now be made available for new/other programs (private lessons, self-defense programs, etc.). If you are a student at Beverly Hills High (and a DYNAMO members), these 3 weekly practices are mandatory (unless you are excused by one of the coaches). For others, please contact Sensei Brezhnev to make arrangement for workable practice time. 2. Please condition yourself on off-days so that regular practice time (your time, your team mates' time) are dedicated to hands-on training and techniques. We will continue to provide conditioning guidance and suggestions but we expect you to do all these on your non-practice days. 3. Our new membership due is $ 200/month (payable at the start of the month). If you have already paid in full for 2008, this will not affect you this year (for next year we will try to come up with a 2009 fee basis later this year). If you have not paid in full for 2008, your rate will go up on June 1st. So please pay up by end of May or work out a payment schedule with Sensei Brezhnev. 4. We will not order any uniforms, belts, tournament entries or ranking advancements without your payment first. Despite of the best effort (time, money) by our coaches and many parents, these changes are necessary to keep DYNAMO solvent and competitive. These are the victory photos from Team DYNAMO's latest competition, at the USA SAMBO and Combat SAMBO Championships in NYC on May 4th. Team DYNAMO finished #1 (amongst all clubs) with 13 individual medals, and qualified to compete in world events.
May 15. Bon Giorno and great news. Our 1st place team victory qualified team DYNAMO to compete in the Italian SAMBO Open Championships (in English, Microsoft WORD file), on June 28 and 29. May 13. After a great SAMBO tournament in NYC, we are now switching practice focus to Judo for upcoming competitions (see EVENT CALENDAR section for links to these events). June 22: California States Games (San Diego, CA), June 26-29: USJA Junior Nationals (Boston, MA)

July 24-27: Western States Games (Colorado Springs, CO) June 22's CA State Game (Judo Championship) is highlighted, because it is one of the two largest Judo competitions in CA (the other being the USJA Winter National Championships at the end of year). This is an important event for all those who seek to advance in Judo ranking and meet new, tough competitors, and winners will earn berths to national competitions. Last year DYNAMO team (4 people) all medaled, including Sensei Brezhnev (1st in state), Justin Kuo (2nd in state), and Justin Brezhnev and Klar Kuo (3rd in state).
